With our 10-6 win over Fariabult on Saturday, we clinched our 4th consecutive DRS League Championship---5th, actually, if you count 2012, but we won't go there.
The big story of the game was D. Bergstrom. The Lanky Lefty threw over 150 pitches, went all 9, struck out 10, and overall provided a calming presence on the mound. Sure, he gave up a few dingers, but we hit a couple of our own as well: namely, Ni. Rost and K. Bergstrom.
The play of the game was in the top of the seventh, when, with bases yacked, Faribault's number nine hitter (A. Kline), hit a sharp line drive up the middle only to be snagged by a sliding K. Henkemeyer who then threw from his knees to beat the aforementioned Kline by a step and end the Lakers rally. Huge.
Sunday's game also ended in a victory, as we beat Montgomery by a score of 15-5 in seven innings.
Ni. Rost and K. Bergstrom went deep again, as did Na. Rost and A. Henkemeyer. If you're keeping score at home, A. Henkemeyer leads the HR race 13-11 over Na. Rost. Don't count out either K. Bergstrom or Ni. Rost, though. They're creeping up with 7 and 6, respectively.
A. Henky took the hill as well: CG, W, 6 Ks, 2 BBs. A heck of a day no matter how you look at it.
K. Henky continues to be red hot, having another three-knock afternoon.
And el web maestro finally managed to grab career hit number 400 (and 401 and 402 as well). In only somewhat ironic fashion, it came on a swinging bunt in the first.
Next game: Tuesday, Faribault, 7:30.
