Muskies Edge Irish 3-2
7/4/2016

The big story of yesterdays game was The Nate Rost getting back on the bump in a starting role. It had been a solid month and a half for the big fella, but he picked up right where he left off: locks flowing, throwing hard, pounding the zone.

TNR got the offense going in the 2nd with a lead off single. After swiping second he was driven in by big/little brothe Ni. Rost's sharp single to right. Ni Rost would eventually come around to score on a P. Holmstrom single.

2-0 Fish after two complete.

We would add another in the third, after el web maestro led off with a single to left, stole second, advanced to third on a past ball, and then scored on a Scotty Lyden sac fly.

3-0 Fish after three complete.

St. Patrick mounted a comeback in the 5th, though. Singles by Goracke and Schwartzkopf led off the inning, and a sac bunt from Chappuis advanded both runners. One run came in on a wild pitch, another came in on an Isaacson RBI single. The Nate Rost promptly slammed the door on the Irish rally, though, striking out Pexa to end the inning.

3-2 Fish after five.

And that would be all the scoring the for afternoon.

TNR went seven strong, scattering seven hits and striking out eleven. Fun to watch.

D. Bergstrom came in for the 8th and 9th after throwing a complete game just a few days ago, and earned his 5th save on the year.

Crazy enough, this was our first one-run victory of the year. Though our other game against the Irish was a close one as well.

A few days off now, and then we travel to Dundas on Friday for an exhibition matchup. Hope to seeya there.
