Two More Wins for The Fish
6/27/2016

This weekend the bats came back to life after a brief hiccup in Prior Lake last Wednesday. In our games against Lonsdale and Webster, we racked up a total of 34 hits and 30 runs.

Everyone hit in the Lonsdale game: T. Bergstrom led the way with 6 RBI, narrowly missing hitting two bombs in one inning. Both of the Henkemeyer's had four hits, and four players had three apiece (P. Holmstrom, T. Bergstrom, Ni. Rost, and B. Herber). Lonsdale didn't really help themselves or their starting pitcher, Joseph Sabal (who went 4 1/3, giving up 13 runs on 18 hits): they booted four balls and had a few others drop that probably should've been caught. But we took advantage of their mistakes, because that's what ya do.

Brett Herber had himself a huge weekend, going 8-10 with 4 2B, 4 RBI, and 3 R between the two games (not to mention a win on the mound against Lonsdale on Saturday).

Not to be outdone, A. Henkemeyer threw quite a gem himself on Sunday in Webster: 7 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, and 8 K. What can't this guy do?

The other story of the weekend was seeing the big fella, The Nate Rost, back on the bump again. The two innings he threw against Lonsdale were his first in over a month. And I believe I speak for all Muskies/Muskies fans when I say that it was good to see him out there throwing hard again, flowing locks flapping in the wind.

Speaking of the big fella, he's already tied the single season RBI record of 40, and my calculations suggest that he may break it before too long.

Big game on Thursday night: 7:30 in Elko. El webby out.
