The Nate Rost Leads Fish Past St. Patrick
5/2/2016

Well, it wasn't a particularly nice day, we didn't play our cleanest game, and the field wasn't in its characteristic fine form, but we managed to notch a "W" against the Irish from St. Patrick. Here are some things worth telling you about our afternoon playing baseball.

The Nate Rost took the hill for the Muskies. He pitched great, as per usual, and should've taken a shutout into the ninth if not for a play in the left center field gap in the 8th that el web maestro should've made. Sorry big fella. Once again, I blame Trump.

The Nate Rost delivered the decisive blow in the 5th with a three-run dinger over the left field fence. How do you hit a line drive with crazy topspin over the fence directly into the teeth of a 20 mph wind? I have no idea. Ask TNR.

The Lanky Lefty Derek Bergstrom earned his third save of the season. He's on pace to save every game, which would be a record, I think.

To sum it up: we only had five hits, but walked eleven times; we left too many guys on base and made too many errors.

But it's early, and we held on for the win, which is all that matters.

Next up: Wednesday night at New Prague. Okay bye.
