Rost Throws Three-Hitter, Fish Defeat Shakopee for the 4th Time in 2015
8/13/2015

It has come to the attention of el web maestro that the Elko Express Twitter-master is an avid reader of the New Market Muskies Game Recaps. I confess I was tickled to have this little hunch of mine confirmed. The truth is, I had a sneaking suspicion that they were one of the eight people who read it. Accordingly, I'm glad that they appreciate my "third grade level" writing style.

Not only does el web maestro attempt to follow the lead of Hemingway in all things pertaining to the written word, for whom a big story doesn't come from big words, but knowing that the Express Twitter-master probably reads around a fourth or fifth grade level, and not wanting to alienate any of our loyal readers, "My aim is to put down on [the game recaps] what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way." Well said, Ernest, well said. Either way, I hereby challenge the Express Twitter-master to a game of Scrabble.

Anyway, now that I've got that off my chest, the Fish played a pretty decent game last night in Shakopee in a continuation of Region 3 seeding play. Here are some things you might want to know.

The Nate Rost was really good on the mound: there was one hard hit ball all evening, and it was an out; of the three Coyote hits, one was of the infield variety and the other two were seeing-eye singles.

The Nate Rost was really good at the plate: he had three knocks, and with his RBI in the 7th he set the single season RBI record with 39. Big tyne.

Nick Rost is not a very good bunter: but it doesn't matter---because after he gets in the hole 0-2 while being given the bunt sign twice in a row, you just know he's gonna hit a rod into the right center field gap for a two-run double.

Nick Rost is wonderfully unpredictable with his swag: is he gonna wear a batting glove only on the top hand? he is gonna wear a candy necklace or a neon-colored hair band as a necklace? You just never know! It's always worth the price of admission to see what kind of style the Rooster is sporting on a particular evening.

Tyler B. still has "pneumonia," whatever that is. Hey, how about spend less time on WebMD and more time mowing Todd's lawn.

Parker showed up!

That was the fourth time this season we've defeated the Coyotes: if all 36 innings were played at once, the score would have been 19-5.

Our next game is Friday night in Faribault at 8pm. We have to beat the Lakers twice to secure the #1 seed. If we are victorious on Friday, we play in New Market at 1pm on Sunday. Let's get silly. Dorfer out.
