Extra Innings Loss to Cannon Falls in Midweek Exhibition
6/11/2015

Coming off a solid performance at the Elko/New Market Tourney, the Fish looked to keep the momentum with a little friendly against the Cannon Falls Bears.

Parker Holmstrom took the mound for the Fish and was solid. We feel good when #3 is on the mound. He went seven strong innings, striking out eight, walking only two; he contributed with the stick as well, collecting a pair of knocks with a RBI to boot. The only hiccup came in the 4th, after the lead-off man walked, the next batter singled, and the next batter was hit by a pitch. The Bears managed a four-spot in that inning, but it could have been worse as Parker worked out of a second-and-third nobody out jam.

Offensively, it was a decent day for us. We hit the ball early and often and ran all over the place, but we left too many guys on base in clutch situations.

It was back and forth on the scoreboard all evening long, until the Bears pushed across the winning run in the 11th, taking advantage of three walks and a groundball that took a nasty hop off the lip for our shortstop.

Coach Derek Bergstrom filled in admirably for Coach Todd Bergstrom. The question now is who has the more intimidating 'stache.
