We're only fifteen games in to what will hopefully be a long season that ends many months from now, but a few of the fellas have already reached some notworthy milestones. Here they are in bullet-point form. Slap these guys on the back and give 'em an "atta boy" next time you see them.
1. Tyler Bergstrom - 300 Hits + 300 Games
TB earned his 300th hit a few weeks ago in Webster. Congrats Squeak! Also, last night was his 300th game. There's a pattern in there somewhere...
2. Kyle Bergstrom - 300 Hits
KB racked up his 300th a few weeks ago in the Budweiser Classic. Fun stat: 24% of his career hits have been dingers (74/305). Not great for the BABIP, but hey, everyone digs the long ball.
3. Scotty Lyden - 300 Hits
Apparently getting your 300th hit is the fashionable thing to do these days, because Spokes joined the club last night in Monty. Well done, sir, you're a gentleman and a scholar.
4. The Nate Rost - 200 Hits
In the same game that KB earned his 200th in a Fish uniform, TNR got his 200th. POLL: Prettiest right-handed swing since Man-Ram? Goodness knows he's got the pants and hair for it.
5. Michael Nazerka - 1st Career Hit
And not to be outdone by any of the aforementioned crafy veterans, last night Mr. Mazerka got his first ever hit as Muskie. How cool is that? Fun fact: he has almost as many career hits as words-spoken-in-the-dugout. Either way, I know I speak for the whole team when I say that we love this kid.
